Bailey, Pine and Pine Junction are home to a little more than 5,000 residents combined. Bailey is located on the eastside of Kenosha Pass along the north edge of the South Platte River, a popular year-round recreational area for outdoor enthusiasts. Bailey is considered to be one of the largest communities in the Platte Canyon region. Pine and Pine Junction sit atop a hill overlooking the entire Platte Canyon Valley, making this hillside community an excellent place to live for those seeking property with sweeping mountain views.
US Highway 285 is the primary access route from Denver to the Front Range foothill communities. These communities consist of a strip of businesses along the highway and a network of residential neighborhoods that branch out into the mountainside overlooking the highway. Platte Canyon High School serves a student body of approximately 500. In 2005, the women’s track team won the Colorado State 3-A championship while several other varsity teams also did well throughout their Metro League seasons.
In the Front Range region, postcards literally come to life. Locals love to say that the type of natural beauty here can’t be perceived – only felt. Nature frames the many mountain towns of the Front Range, including Bailey, Pine and Pine Junction. Nearby, Estes Park serves as the entrance to the national park while Grand Lake is located on the other side of the mountain. Idaho Springs, Georgetown and other lofty hamlets are tucked away between ridges and valleys while cities such as Central City and Black Hawk are less inconspicuous, serving as the gambling meccas of this region. The largest community in this region is Boulder, home to the University of Colorado. The essence of the entire region is captured in this wonderful community. Framed by foothills, the city boasts 33,000 acres of parks and trails, as well as a philosophy of spiritual and environmental health. There’s plenty to do and see in town, including the always-lively Pearl Street Mall and the summer-long Colorado Music Festival. Additional dining and entertainment can be found in Fort Collins, the site of Colorado State University and Greeley, home of the University of Northern Colorado.
Residents of Bailey, Pine and Pine Junction have easy access to all of these unique communities, as well as the many amenities and attractions found throughout the Denver Metro Area. Denver is an energized city and is considered to be one of the fastest growing cities in the entire country. Denver has long strived to acquire the trappings of a grown-up metropolis and the results of those efforts are seen everywhere. In addition to great museums, thriving neighborhoods, a flourishing art scene and an ethnically diverse population, Denver boasts a happening downtown full of restaurants, clubs, boutiques, galleries and specialty shops. Denver indeed has matured to a point of sophistication and cultural attainment, yet it remains youthful, enthusiastic and primed for action.
